For families with neurodivergent members. This is a non-profit event offered by Vista Mundo Retreat Center to allow families in this community to gather and enjoy a relaxing vacation with people who get you!

These are trial events by Vista Mundo Retreat Center. We will not take profit on these events and will work to deliver the relaxing, supportive community event that your family deserves.
We ask that you help us understand your family's needs and help us to plan and create a warm, loving, supportive event.
These events are for:
families who have members who are on the spectrum or neurodivergent, including those who are non-verbal.
Parents or caregivers are also welcome even if you cannot bring your child
So pack your sunscreen and your community attitude and join us for some fun and exploration. Let's create from love and community.

INCLUDED: Airport Transfers & a Grocery Stop
Meet Leo, our Personal driver with 20 years of tourism experience in Costa Rica. Enjoy your first Grocery shopping trip on your way to the center, included with your transportation.
INCLUDED: Shared Accommodations
Every bedroom has a dedicated bathroom
Every 2 bedrooms have a kitchen and living space
Every bed is a split king (can be 2 XL Twins or a King)
One suite includes a wall bed (sleeps 2)
INCLUDED: We'll stock your fridge!
Before you get here, we'll visit a local farmers market and pre-stock every kitchen with the following (or more)
Fresh broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini and other vegetables
Fresh mango, watermelon and other seasonal fruit
½ a kilo of fresh farmers market artisan cheese (ideal for cooking or frying)
A cooked chicken
A flat of eggs
Spices and other condiments
We'll also help you get a grocery stop mid-week, so you can pick up the comforts your family needs.
INCLUDED: Visit a Sloth Rescue!
You simply haven't lived until you've watched baby sloths playing in the morning. We'll arrange for a visit to the Costa Rica Wildlife Rescue, where your family can experience sloths and other indigenous Costa Rican wildlife. You'll also hear the inspiring stories of white-faced monkeys rescued from a cartel, and the peccary pig who thinks he's a human. Make sure you have lots of space for photos on your phone!

Herradura Beach!
We'll do a day-trip to visit one of Costa Rica's most sought-after white sand beaches. Collect shells, body surf in the waves, and eat fresh seafood at some of the best seaside restaurants on Costa Rica's west coast.
INCLUDED: Visit a local waterall!
The Aguacate Mountains of Costa Rica is famous for it's many spectacular waterfalls. Stand or swim at the base and enjoy the thunderous chorus of water and bird sounds.
INCLUDED: Drive the Camino del Cielo y Colibríes (The Trail of Heaven & Hummingbirds)!
Located off one of Costa Rica's pre-eminent scenic drives, every time you drive into or out of Vista Mundo, you'll be treated to some of the most breathtaking views in the world. The Camino is a hot-spot for world-class cyclers, bird watchers and anyone who simply wants to have their breath taken away.
INCLUDED: Bird watching and animal spotting at Vista Mundo
Located off the Camino del Cielo y Colibríes, Vista Mundo is located in one of the pre-eminent bird watching corridors of the world. Because of Costa Rica's narrow shape, literally thousands of species of birds migrate through the Aguacate Mountains every year. Learn to recognize the calls of Toucans and Oropendolas. See large flocks of green parrots swoop past Vista Mundo's fresh water pool for an afternoon drink. And have fun spotting many birds you'll know from up north as they make their yearly migration to warmer climates. We also are frequently visited by white-faced monkeys, nine-banded armadillos, coatis, agoutis, jaguarundis and many other local mammals.
INCLUDED: Conversations on Telepathy and Communication
If you listened to the Telepathy Tapes, you'll know that the inquiry of whether telepathy and typing are effective forms of communication in our non-verbal members has come to the forefront. We'll be exploring this topic with other families, so you can get the answers and support you need.
INCLUDED: Enjoy or Fresh-water pool
Yes, our pool takes neither chlorine nor salt. With a UV filter, you can enjoy a fresh-water experience as cool-plunge temperatures. Or grab a lounge and curl up with a good book.
INCLUDED: Evening Sound Baths
Relax to the sound to Tibetan bowls and bells, over sung by local bird song. A vibrational experience to release stress and trauma, and welcome in healing.

Breathtaking views, beautiful, scenery, clean and comfortable rooms, and excellent, reliable, high speed internet. Vista Mundo offers a perfect balance of luxury, location and comfort.
I had an amazing time with my wife and kids at Vista Mundo. We explored the land, picked bananas off the trees, swam in the ozone pool, did yoga, ecstatic dance and a beautiful bonfire under the clear starlit night. The place just resonates with powerful transformation energy.
The greatest aspect of this place was the sense of community and connection that we felt from our hosts, Pam and Teresa. The minute we arrived we were showered with love and positive energy, it was really lovely. Our kids connected deeply to them, and it was like having extended family as neighbors.
